Silverstone Temjin 5 (TJ05)

The Silverstone Temjin 5 is a hybrid combination of form and function.  Taking a mini-server style steel chassis with aluminum wave style faceplate and combining it with a glossy enthusiast finish, Silverstone offers up the best of both worlds.  Featuring lots of room for expansion, an acrylic side Window, Back lit blue front LCD with fan control, and a tooless design. This extended ATX case could be the perfect gaming rig, Overclocking rig or just your clans own mini-server.  It''s high quality finish and roomy interior defy you to pin it to a category.

Zalman Fatal1ty FS-C77

Zalman expands its line of fine copper flower coolers into the gaming and modding arena with the "Fatal1ty" FS-C77 cooler.  This cooler is one of many new enthusiast products to be given the "Fatal1ty" brand. The FS-C77 is geared towards gamers and hardware enthusiast who want not only the fastest running but the coolest looking computers to show off at LAN events.  Though there are many after market products out there that do this, Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel is really the first person to move into this market with name recognition and a wide array of products under his brand.  But don''t let the branding and the flashy colors fool you, this cooler can perform.  Read on to see how well it does against a stock FX-55 cooler and another high end copper after market cooler.

Sapphire X1800XT Performance Edition

Sapphire burst into the high end graphics arena with both barrells blazing with their X1800XT "Performance Edition".   This card delivers 512mb of GDDR3 Memory running at 1.5Ghz, and the powerful R520 core clocked at 700Mhz.   This 2 slot high end PCI-E graphics card utilizes Shader Model3.0, HDR, and adaptive AA, allowing you to have unparralled Image Quality along side High Performance.   If that wasn''t enough Sapphire includes a great bundle, "Avivo" Technology, and support for digital and analog displays, including HDTV.

OCZ EL DDR PC-3500 Gold GX

OCZ is a name synonymous with performance and when it comes to Memory they are also synonymous with overclockability.  OCZ Technology introduces the EL PC-3500 Gold Gamer eXtreme Series as the latest addition to the Gold Series line of Memory sticks.  These two 512mb DDR 433 duel channel memory sticks come with super tight timings and high end performance all under a “lifetime warranty”, even if overclocked.  Looking for an upgrade?  With special features like OCZ’s “Extended Voltage protection” and “Ultra Low Noise” it’s hard not to seriously think about making the next memory upgrade choice OCZ.

Fatal1ty FS-V7

In this review we will look at the Zalman Fatal1ty FS-V7 Graphics Card cooler.  The Fatal1ty FS-V7 is a two slot copper cooler marketed toward gamers and PC enthusiast alike: with Red Copper fins, Anodized RAM sinks, and a Red LED fan it definitely has the bling appeal.  It also comes with the ability to run on 12v in "Performance Mode" as well as a 5v "Quiet Mode" for those of you audiophiles who are gamers as well.

But does this cooler have what it takes to cool the High Clock, High Heat GPU cores out today.  That''''s exactly what I intended to find out.  Read along as I try out the FS-V7''''s cooling capabilities against an X1800XTPE''''s stock 2-slot cooling solution.

Daycare Dino Mod

Normaly at work when we upgrade a computer we send it over to goodwill.
This time my son's daycare was haveing a fundraiser for certain items.  One of them being new computers.  I told them I was going to take a bunch to goodwill and that I would let them have them instead.  The catch was I had to make them work again.   I managed to get two out of the four we had stored working again.

Atomic LANbomb

This is what is left of my first self build computer. Now that it is outdated it works as a comp for my wife and Kids to play on. I do occasionally use it as my backup LAN computer. It started out as a SOYO barebones kit that got upgraded to a new Lanboy case. After looking at it for a while I decided it needed Cathodes and Fans, then vinyl and new cabling.  Then it kinda became my experimental testbed for mods.

Casket PSU Mod

This casket was originally meant for a test PSU I had laying around. Unfortunalty It burnt out in the middle of the project.  (Un)-luckily for me my power supply on the UTMod just wasn't cutting it anymore.  So I took the shuttle PSU out and put it into the casket instead.  It didn't fit the same so I had to bend a piece of Acrylic into an L and adhere the circuit board to it with Bolts and Nuts.

Martini HTPC Mod

This is my first hardcore mod - I started with the Idea that I wanted a Mod that wasn't just a box with a hole cut in the side with some lights.  I wanted to create something that wasn't square and was kinda cool to look at, even  when It wasn't on. I wanted to put it in my living room and hook it up to HDTV as my media center PC after all.  I am also an avid gamer and wanted to play some serious games too.

UTMod

It all started with a simple SK41G shuttle case.   All hardware was taken out of that case to be put inside my custom creation.   The case was built from Acrylic bent around the shape of a UT2004 Character.  Small, portable, completely custom and unlike anything else out there this mod was my LAN rig for over 2 years and won me second place at quakecon among many other awards.

Must Kill Teddy Bears

Brandon Steen, A friend and Fellow Co-worker of mine who also just happens to be an excellent artist, was having some computer problems. His problem? His case was uglier than sin and an abomination to mankind.

I had been wanting to try out some things with backpainting and Brandon desperately needed a new case. So we decided to work together on a Mod. Using his awsome artwork and my modding skills. We were trying to create an artful masterpiece.  What we ended up with was sick, twisted and horrifically beautiful.

Sapphire Blizzard: Liquid Metal Demo PC

Over the past few months I had been in contact with Sapphire.  They had been wanting
to do something with me but hadn't decided what yet.  Then out of the blue it hits them: E3!

My Mission:  To create a Crowd Pleasing Modded Demo PC from Scratch for their new Flagship hardware Debut at E3.

The Enemy:  Time.  E3 was only two weeks away!!  (Que Burning Fuse and Mission Impossible music...)

Project13

This design is directly spawned off the Sapphire cube.
I really didn't get enough time with that case and I really wanted to do a lot more to it.
So when it came time to upgrade my LAN PC the desire was too strong to deny.
I had to make another cube.

Using Red Plex and Aluminum I created a 13" square cube to fit the hardware that Sapphire had given to me.  The Pure Innovation Motherboard and the X1800XTPE with thier red and white PCB's gave me the idea for the color scheme.

Sapphire E3 Demo PC '06

Sapphire wanted another case for E3 again this year. Again they wanted a cold theme for another Graphics Card cooler. This time the cooler is an all inclusive liquid cooler from Thermaltake branded with the "Toxic" name and mounted on two X1900XTX's in Crossfire mode.  Both of these cards are then mounted to a Pure Crossfire advantage mobo.  The hardware specs for this rig are pretty impressive.  Building a case to do the hardware Justice should prove to be a challenge.
